On June 5, 2026, Stenhagen Mosque organized a special post-Eid gathering and open house for neighbors, local organizations and community representatives. The event created a meeting place for dialogue, community and increased understanding between people from different backgrounds.
After celebrating Eid al-Fitr, we wanted to bring people from the local area together to strengthen relationships in our local community and demonstrate the values that our mosque stands for: openness, respect, diversity and cooperation. The event was open to everyone, regardless of faith or background, and visitors were offered refreshments while they had the opportunity to get to know the mosque and its activities.
A day characterized by meetings and understanding
One of the main purposes of the event was to highlight the diversity that exists within the Muslim community and at the same time show how together we can contribute to a stronger and more inclusive society.
During the day, visitors had the opportunity to meet members of the congregation, ask questions, receive information about Islam and the mosque’s activities and participate in fruitful conversations. The atmosphere was characterized by curiosity, respect and a desire to get to know each other better.

A fantastic response from the local community
Alhamdu-Lillah, the event was a great success and exceeded our expectations.
We were honored to welcome over 100 local residents who are not Muslims. Among the participants were representatives from Uppsala Municipality, local churches, the Police Authority and other community stakeholders. We were also pleased to receive a visit from a representative and board member from Uppsala Mosque, whose presence contributed to strengthening the sense of togetherness and cooperation.
The broad participation demonstrated a common interest in dialogue, understanding and stronger relationships between different groups in society.

The Power of an Open Door
Events like this remind us that the strongest bonds are often created through simple meetings and conversations. By opening our doors to our neighbors, we create opportunities to learn from each other and discover the values that unite us.
The positive reception confirmed an important message: Stenhagen Mosque is a place where everyone is welcome. Regardless of faith, culture or background, we want to be a meeting place that promotes respect, dialogue and active community engagement.

Moving forward together
The success of this open house event has inspired us to continue organizing similar initiatives in the future. We are convinced that diversity is one of our greatest strengths and that through collaboration we can contribute to a more inclusive, safe and cohesive society.
We would like to extend a warm thank you to everyone who participated, contributed and helped make the day possible. Your presence created a memorable day filled with community, learning and new encounters.
We look forward to welcoming even more neighbors, friends and visitors to future events at Stenhagen Mosque.
Together we build a stronger society.
